Sometimes they'll get you

Sometimes they don't

Sometimes they'll let you

Sometimes they won't

And sometimes you can't get it

Out of your head

Someday's you just wish they'd

Forget what it was you said

Everyone's a winner

Everyone must lose

Everyone's a sinner

Everyone must choose

And someone ain't paying

Their share of the bill

That certain someone is

Having someone else's fill

So you think about faith

You think about fate

You think you'll be safe

You worry you'll be late

And no one ever thinks

It will happen to them

Well look out kid

Its happening again

They don't care what you are saying

They don't care what you've heard

They don't care if you're staying

Or if you've been transferred

Sometimes its just plain wrong

To wonder why

Other times its all part of

The same old lie

See everyone can be right

Everyone can be wrong

You can be tight

When its going for a song

You can always find

Your own personal heaven or hell

It all depends on what a person

 Might have to sell

You can guard the castle walls

Or you can hide in the eaves

You can blame it on the fall

Or on the presence of thieves

Sooner or later someone

Always calls you out

Then you say with full conviction

Forgive me for my doubt
