Children of War

Children of War

Written by Scott Wainwright

Looking out of my window

At all the troubles of the day

A world filled with sorrow

We can't seem to find our way

Killing is all we seem to do

Dying a little more every day

Who can pull us through?

And stop us living this way?

(chorus)

God's going to kick down that door

There won't be anymore

Children of war

The future seems so bleak

Young lives ended so soon

Our attempts at peace are weak

We've got too much to lose

One man's selfish gain

Out weighs many people's needs

So he causes a bloody rain

While he refuses to bleed

(chorus)

God's going to kick down that door

There won't be anymore

Children of war

On The Other Side of Here

On The Other Side of Here

Written by Scott Wainwright

People moving from door to door

Not sure what they are looking for

Trying to escape the same old war

Unsure what they we're really fighting for

(chorus)

Something strange and better awaits

On the the other side of here

Trouble moves from coast to coast

People start to lose all hope

On the run from the final end

Trying to find some kind of friend

(chorus)

Something strange and better awaits

On the the other side of here

Beggars

Beggars

Written by Scott Wainwright

An old beggar asked me for change

I gave an old beggar all of my change

Every one said I was wasting my time

But I could see Jesus in his eyes

An old friend stabbed me in the back

An old friend asked me to take him back

Every one said I was wasting my time

But I could see Jesus in his eyes

I am begging at God's door

Trying to get in God's door

People say 'God you'd be wasting your time'

I just hope he can see Jesus in my eyes

Sail Away

Sail Away

Written by Scott Wainwright

The boat laps on the ocean

Our loving words spoken

Lost to the motion of the sea

Retrieved in the love between you and me

You with your open toe shoes

Me with nothing to lose

Sail away

(chorus)

Sailing the seven seas

Into the sunset

Sailing your eyes

I can't forget

The golden coastline

The first thing to my mind

Is having the time to be in love

To lose ourselves to the sky above

You with your sun shade

Me with the love that you gave

Sail away

(chorus)

Sailing the seven seas

Into the sunset

Sailing your eyes

I can't forget

At the dying of the day

On a lifting wave

I'm glad to have stayed by your side

And glad you are here by mine

You in the candles flame

Me glad that we stayed

Sail away

(chorus)

Sailing the seven seas

Into the sunset

Sailing your eyes

I can't forget

Kiss (Like They Do In France)

Kiss (Like They Do In France)

Written by Scott Wainwright

Get low like a submarine

It seams like a sewing machine

Get the stool beneath that foot

And let that music do its stuff

(chorus)

Long is the night

Short is the dance

If you're lucky tonight, you might

Kiss like they do in France

Put on your dancing shoes

Give clues to the moves that you choose

Get the jacket off your back

Loose that tie, lose that hat

(chorus)

Long is the night

Short is the dance

If you're lucky tonight, you might

Kiss like they do in France

(birdge)

Grab the girl that you love

Love the girl that you grab

Slow down just enough

There is love to be had

(chorus)

Long is the night

Short is the dance

If you're lucky tonight, you might

Kiss like they do in France

Down The Line

Down The Line

Written by Scott Wainwright

If you're not moving

Then you're losing time

Come back now

From down the line

From down the line

If you're not losing

Then you're gaining time

Come back now

From down the line

From down the line

To keep from losing

Keep winning in mind

Come back now

From down the line

From down the line

To keep on moving

You got to make up your mind

Come back now

From down the line

From down the line

Deal Me Another Hand

Deal Me Another Hand

Written by Scott Wainwright

There's cooking in the kitchen

And banging in the yard

I noticed something missing

In the hand that deals the card

But there's rain in the sky

And wind in the window

I move the sun from my eyes

And tip the dirt from the barrow

There's shouting in the next room

Take a brolly for the rain

The wind blows, the washing moves

And sleeping dogs lay

So there's more work tomorrow

And a fraying shoelace

You'd like sleep to follow

But the dogs in your place

(chorus)

Deal me another hand

Elizabeth pleads

There's sense in stupidity

Dirt still in the barrow

You think your cupidity

Lacks bows and arrows

Well there's bread in the bread bin

And books on the shelf

But the hunger within

Is to be some place else

There's rage at the roadside

And a soul less a king

The Sun's back in your eyes

And you didn't say a thing

You're a prophet by prevention

You're working late

And the dogs got your pension

Thanks to the state

(chorus)

Deal me another hand

Elizabeth pleads

(coda)

I don't know which way I'll turn

But I know I'll let these wheels burn

I'm talking to you
