Song Of Solomon

Song Of Solomon

Written by Scott Wainwright

All that money

All that gold

All that silver

Won't save your soul

All that money will drive you mad

Hoarding all that wealth

Is the worst plan you ever had

All those women

All those girls

All that loving

Is going to make you ill

All those wives will leave you feeling sad

When you gonna realise

You've been had?

All those oysters

All those pearls

Exotic items

From around the world

All those possessions there to be had

Lets hope its all

Just a passing fad

Song of Solomon

Songs of devotion

All the wrong things

Song of Solomon

Songs of redemption

All the wrong things

Let Jesus Replace Your Troubled Waters (With Those That Are Calm)

Let Jesus Replace Your Troubled Waters

(With Those That Are Calm)

Written by Scott Wainwright

Come all you who are weary

Come all you who are broken down

Come all you with nothing left to give

Come and gather around

At the feet of the Lord

You'll feel right at home

Come all you who are worried

Come all who feel small

Come all you with emptiness

Come heed the call

Of the voice of the Lord

He is calling to you

Come all you who are tired

Come all you who are sad

Come all you who are lost

Come get found, come get glad

In the company of the Lord

He has all you need

And if you want to get free

Let him take you up in his loving arms

Let him replace your troubled waters

With those that are calm

Come all you who are happy

Come all you who are scared

Come all you who do not believe

You are not beyond repair

In the house of the Lord

He has a room for you

Come all you who are without

Come all you outcast

Come all you who are bound

Come get free at last

At the word of the Lord

He is waiting for you

The Weekender

The Weekender

Written by Scott Wainwright

I've been working hard

Been working hard every day

I keep on killing my boss

Over and over in my head

I am going to get that cruel man

For all the bad things he said

I am going to find a place

Where the beer never runs out

I ain't making up my

My dying bed

I am going to drink all these blues

Clean out of my head

There's got to be some place

I can dance these blues away

I ain't working no more

Damn sure I ain't working no more

Down on that

Killing floor

The Last Song I'll Sing

The Last Song I'll Sing

Written by Scott Wainwright

The water was white with fury

The sky was red with fire

When I left the house of mourning

All joy removed, devoured

My face was awful downcast

My hands were clenched with fear

When I left the safety of my home

All strength removed, devoured

But this will be the last song I sing

About the pain I'm feeling

The earth quakes with birth pains

The grapes they are trod in wrath

When I left the arms of my wife

All hope removed, devoured

My clothes became a shroud

Every breath like shattered glass

With the tears of my children

All peace removed, devoured

But this will be the last song I sing

About the pain I'm feeling

Loves binds are draped upon me

The lambs feet now fleet before

When I rise from this turbulent slumber

All life abounding, rejoice

My head is lifted high

Barefoot I forward wander

To meet the king of Salem

All hope restored, rejoice

But this will be the last song I sing

About the pain I'm feeling

I Let Go

I Let Go

Written by Scott Wainwright

No one said it would be easy

No one said it would be easy

No one tells you which road

The grass is always greener

Everything glitters like gold

Some people won't give you

Some people won't give you

What it is you're gonna need

Every ones got their own

hunger to feed

I let go, I let go, I let go

Lord knows, I let go

Somebody always needs pleasing

Somebody always needs pleasing

Every ones got their own axe to grind

That's why there's always wars

Even in so called peace times

So even in the darkness

So even in the darkness

You've got to keep wandering afar

Because if it wasn't for the darkness

You'd never see the light of the stars

I let go, I let go, I let go

Lord knows, I let go

As yet unrecorded.

Bend In The River

Bend In The River

Written by Scott Wainwright

If you had seen what I have seen

You'd reach the same conclusion

If you have been where I had been

You'd be under no illusion

You wouldn't stop and wonder what you had to do

You'd know this bend in the river

Will take me away from you

This bend in the river

Will take me out of view

See, all your pretty words

Are nothing but confusing

When all they hide

Is the ill intent you are using

Its older than time and nothing really new

I'm glad that this bend in the river

Will take me away from you

This bend in the river

Will take me out of view

You would have everyone believe

In the cold light of day

That all your slight of hand

Is a way to change

But that's easy for those with nothing to lose

I'm glad this bend in the river

Will take me away from you

This bend in the river

Will take me out of view

Not everything you want to buy

Is available for sale

So no matter how you try

You won't find the truth in this tale

But know that goodness always makes a way through

And this bend in the river

Could be the thing that saves you

This bend in the river

Could be the thing to change you

Last Exit Blues

Last Exit Blues

Written by Scott Wainwright

Take these reins, this pony ain't gonna ride

Take these reins, this pony ain't gonna ride

I've walked a hundred miles

by her side

Can't walk a hundred miles more

by her side

I left my home, cannot work down no mine

I left my home, cannot work down no mine

Though I sure do miss my dear Mother

From time to time

Though I sure do miss my dear mother

Might drop her a line

Take these rags for riches, no one knows my name

Take these rags for riches, no one knows my name

I am bound for glory

Won't be round this way again

I am bound for glory

Won't be round this way again

The future is coming on

My future is coming on
